All of you are amazing!

Hello out there!  I just wanted to say thank you all so very much for the support and wonderful comments! I can't tell you all how touched I am that there is an interest in my stamps!  Did I say this before... I have been dying to do stamps, for years now but lacked the courage to follow my dream!  I used to say,"Who's going to want my stuff, it's too different, too Betty!"  Thus the Simply Betty Stamps name.  Many of you that know me will say.... yep that is a Betty.

Your wonderful comments have given me the desire and the courage to pull out those 100 something drawings I have tinkered with for years, telling myself one day.. one day... well that one day is coming!  There is so much excitement in me I can't sit still, I feel like a little girl with ADHA that was just told to be sit still in church!  Not going to happen~ lol!  I just can't tell you guys how excited I was yesterday when I got a confirmation from USPS... the stamps are on THEE WAY!  Should be Friday, maybe Saturday at the latest!  I want to camp out by the post box cluster down the street where my mail comes!  Or the post office, then I would get them quicker... I wouldn't have to wait for the mail man to drive up the little hill to my street, fill all the boxes, leave me a pick up slip... yada yada yada!  Hurry up already right!

Well, that's it for tonight... just wanted to say Thank you all for the support, the lovely comments, and yes of course at some point we will have challenge blogs... I just have to get my head around all this new stuff... I will be posting fun sketches to be made into stamps soon so please check back and let me know what ya think!  Okay back to the drawing board, er literally!

Oh oh oh, and I wanted to say thank you Chris Shults!  Jen's husband colored Betty up for that fun blinkie you see to the right!  Isn't she beautiful!  I made the blinkie and the background, but Chris colored the image and Jen sent it to me as a surprise!  That was a great surprise by the way!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome!  You have probably hopped on over here from all the wonderful work you saw on The Pink Elephant!  Thank you for stopping by.

My name is Betty Roberts.  I have always had a passion for art, drawings, and crafting.  As a child I would ask for coloring books for birthdays and Christmas.  I never left a page uncolored!  SO, it was only natural that I try my hand at drawing fun and funky images to turn into Rubber Stamps!  So, keep an eye out for my next lines of Greek Goddesses in modern day punk drawn by me myself and I!

Now, I finally realized that there seems to be a confusion, because I have included my drawings in a previous blog post on my own stating they are my drawings, let me correct myself.  The Modern Greek Goddesses  and Gods are mine (see below, I have added a sketch), but these first cuties let me give credit to the wonderfully talented artist Jordyn Fisher, you can find all his information here.  I gave him some pictures, some ideas of what I am looking for and he came up with the character design and all the fun images you see below.  I am having him on as a featured artist from her on, that is of course if he's willing and able.  Now, onto the introduction of the first set of stamps to be released... please be sure to check out Jo's deviant art page... there are some amazing and fun fun fun art.  I will have a spot for all my artists on the website with more information on it on all the artist, right now there are three Jo, myself, and Elaine coming on July!

I would like to introduce you all to My Kids Emo World.  I did take inspiration from three people from my own family (one being myself) for these funky images.

First off is Chrisian my 16 year old son.  He is always wearing a hat, slouches over, and would looove to have a Night Furry Dragon!

Next is Rio, my 12 year old daughter.  Rio is very unique, loves weird and funky clothes, doesn't care if she matches, and is so secure she wears what ever she wants to wear whenever she wants to wear it!  She always has mismatched socks and striped socks!

Last is Betty, myself as I was in my youth!  I loved skullies, loved my rock and roll/punk rock music, and I too didn't care what others thought of my outfits!  I always had a great time expressing myself!

The next three are just fun and funky images I thought would go great with this line.

All these cuties will be available for purchase June 1st (website information to follow soon).  They are high quality deep etched rubber, cling foam mounted, and scroll cut around the stamp for a nice clean shaped stamp.  All stamps come with both the main character and their pet.  You will be able to cut them apart if you choose to, but originally they will be scroll cut together as if one stamp.

Please check back June 1st for a fun and funky Blog Hop!

Simply Betty Stamps will be debuting four to six stamps per release and the releases will take place anywhere from every two weeks to a monthly basis.  My goal is to bring you all high quality products with fun and funky twists!  Not only will I be drawing images, new and fresh artists will always be welcome and commissioned to help me bring you all fun and funky stamps and images!

Now here is Athena the first of the Goddesses:

and please bare with me she's nowhere close to being done!  It's a rough rough sketch!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you stopping by and giving Simply Betty Stamps a look.  I hope to bring you all fun challenges and look forward to seeing all of you participate and have fun with my images!  I hope you have enjoyed this post and again look forward to meeting new friends and craft buddies!  If you have any suggestions please feel free to leave me a comment!  All comments bring a smile to my face!

See you all soon!
